My name is Gerhard from Austria (no kangaroos!) and I am a passionated traveler. On long time travelling I often use cheap accommodation. I think, hostels, budget hotels and guest houses are the most common ways to stay for backpacker.
Before I book a dorm-bed or a room, I search for reviews about the accommodation in the internet. For the big hostels you find a lot of feedback at the big hostel booking platforms. But I found out, that they do not allways publish negative comments or delete them after a while. Should I trust these feedbacks in future?
On other homepages, where they offer reviews about cheap accommodation, they only undertake the feedback from the booking platforms. So this is also not a transparent way to find out, if a hostel or hotel is a good place to stay.
There are mostly also no detailed informations about the room and the facilities. Does the internet work well? Or is it very slow? Is the hostel noisy? I also found wrong maps and wrong directions how to go to the hostel. With a big backpack that’s not really fun to go around the city to find the accommodation.
And mostly you can not find reviews about accommodation, that is not offered in the internet.
Because of this reasons, I publish my experiences with staying in cheap accommodation on the internet. So you can read my opinionated reviews about the hostels, hotels and guest houses, where I have stayed on travelling. Uncensored. I hope, it will help you to find the best hostel or hotel for you.
