The second time, when I have been on Koh Chang Island I stayed in Rock Sand Resort and Maylamean bungalows. Following I write about my experiences in staying at “Melamean bungalows. They are located directly on the White Sand Beach next to Rock Sand Resort.

I stayed there for budget holidays from January 14 to January 20, 2012 in bungalow number 3A (yellow bungalow with sea view). Here is my review:

Bungalow facilities:

If you want to enjoy island-life without high-tech, this is the right place for you. There is no Wi-Fi connection available. But it doesn’t matter. It’s great to relax. And if you want to check your e-mail or want to have a connection to the world wide web go to the restaurant in the Rock Sand Resort or White Sand Beach Resort. Both offer Wi-Fi (Rock Sand free, White Sand Beach you’ve to pay a fee).

There is a restaurant directly in the small resort. They offer great thai-food and western-style food.

They offer laundry service for 40 Baht/Kg. I used this service once. The laundry was clean.

Check-out time is 12 AM.

The staff at the reception are very friendly. Kiki is from Germany.

Maylamean bungalow - White Sand Beach at Koh Chang island

Room-facilities:

In my bungalow 3A (yellow bungalow) I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key.

Room has a big terrace with seaview. Great!!!

In the room there is a small board where you can put in your belongings.

There is a window in the room and you can open it.

There is a net against mosquitos in front of the window and the doors. There is also a mosqito-net over the bed. But there are some holes in, so you have to fix them first or you can also bring your own mosqitoe net.

Fan is available, that is blowing directly on the bed.

I think smoking is in the room not allowed.

In the room it is very quiet. You can only hear the waves. You can leave the window open during the night.

They keep the rooms clean.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room.

There is a shower directly in the bathroom, there is no separate cabin.

There is no sink in the bathrom and you have to flush the toilet with a small bowl (thai-style).

There is only cold water – but who cares on a tropical island?

Toilet paper and a towel are provided.

Location of the Melamean bungalows:

From the place, where the small busses and taxis stop in front of “Seven Eleven” it’s about 5 minutes’ walk along the beach to the Melamean bungalows. You have to walk through the restaurant at Rock Sand Resort to go there. If you have a trolley or a suitcase you sould use the path behind the bungalows at KC-Resort or take a taxi to White Sand Beach Resort. From there you can walk along the footpath.

Within 5 minutes’ walk along the beach there is the main street with a lot of stores, bars and restaurants.

Along the beache there are some restaurants and bars. You can enjoy the sunset there and they offer great thai- and international food. Try also the food directly at Maylamean!

There are some steps from the beach up to the restaurant and the bungalows. If you are handycapped, I think it is not a good idea to stay there.

Summary

I really enjoyed the stay at Melamean bungalows! It’s one of the best places I have ever stayed. I enjoyed the location of the bungalow and the terrace-restaurant. There also a lot of friendly people. In the restaurant you get in contact with other guests very quickly. It’s really good place for fun. I felt really welcome and safe there.

If you want to stay at Maylamean bungalows you should simply go in and ask the staff, if there is a free bungalow. If you don’t like it choose another hostel.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at “Rock Sand Resort” on the island Koh Chang in Thailand. The Rock Sand Resort is located directly on the White Sand Beach on Koh Chang. When you open the room-door it’s only a few meters to the sea. They offer some different types of rooms – everything from rooms with fan to the penthouse.

I stayed there for holiday (with a budget like a backpacker is travelling with) from December 31, 2011 to January 14, 2012 in double-room number 5. Here is my review especially about that room:

Hotel/Guesthouse facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi internet is in the room number 5 and in the restaurant available. The signal in the room and on the balcony is sometimes bad, so it’s better to use it in the restaurant or on the terrace of the restaurant. The speed of the internet connection is at Rock Sand Resort average, compared to other hostels or hotels in Thailand. Sometimes it doesn’t work. But that’s not a problem only of the resort’s internet, that’s a problem on the whole island.

At Rock Sand Resort they offer snorkeling-tours and boat trips. I’ve nothing booked.

Breakfast is not included, but the restaurant offers a variety of western style breakfast.

There is a restaurant in the resort that is opened all day long.

They offer laundry service for 40 Baht/kg. I used this service. The laundry was clean.

Check-out time is 12 AM.

The staff at the reception and in the restaurant are friendly.

Room-facilities:

In my double-room (number 5) I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key.

Room has a terrace where you can see the sea directly in front of you.

In the room there are no desk or cupboard.

There is a window in the room and it can be opened.

There is a net without holes against mosquitos in front of the window.

The bed is pretty high – smaller people have to jump a little bit to reach it.

Fan is available and works well.

There is a safe in the room – you can choose your own code, but the staff can also open it with a key.

I am not sure, but I think smoking is in the room not allowed.

There is no TV-set in the room.

In the room it was sometimes a little bit noisy because of the waves and peopling passing in front of the window.

They keep the rooms clean, change towels and make your bed once a week.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room.

There is a shower directy in the bathroom – there is no separate cabin.

Hot water worked well.

Toilet paper and towel are provided. If you run out of toilet paper you have to ask at the reception.

From the sewers it was sometimes a little bit stinky. I’ve closed the one outlet on the floor in the bathroom, when I didn’t need it – so it was better.

Location of the Rock Sand Resort:

From the place, where the small busses stop in front of “Seven Eleven” it’s about 5 minutes’ walk along the beach to the Rock Sand Resort. If you have a trolley or a suitcase you sould use the path behind the bungalows at KC-Resort. It’s easier to carry the luggage there.

You can easily find the resort. The house is built on rocks directly on the beach. They have a big terrace that is built over the water.

Within 5 minutes’ walk there is the main street with a lot of stores, bares and restaurants.

There is a restaurant directly in the building. Along the beache there are some restaurants and bars. You can enjoy the sunset there and they offer great thai- and international food on the beach.

Summary

I enjoyed the stay in the Rock Sand Resort. The room number 5 was furnished basic but it was clean. One thing, I didn’t like, was the stench from the sewers. I could fix it a little bit, when I closed the outlet in the bathroom. I felt welcome and safe there.

Along the White Sand Beach there are some nice, small resorts with bungalows. Read also my reviews about Maylamean bungalows, that is next to Rock Sand Resort.

The “Hotel Residence” is located in the district of St. Georg about five minutes’ walk from Hamburg mainstation. I stayed there as backpacker with a friend from November 2 to November 6, 2011 in a double room (one big bed). Here is my review:

Hotel facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi internet is in the room available. You get a key for free at the reception. The speed of the internet connection is, compared to other hotels in Germany, average.

Breakfast is included (toast, jam, butter, tee, coffee, sausages…)

Check-out time is 11 AM.

The staff at the reception are very friendly.

The reception is 24 hours open.

You have to leave the key at the reception when you leave the hotel.

Cheap room in Hotel Residence in Hamburg (click for more photos)

Room-facilities:

In my double room number 11 I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key.

Room has no balcony.

In the room is a desk for working and a sofa.

There are two windows in the room and they can be opened.

Smoking is in the room not allowed – Non smoker room.

TV-set with small screen and a lot of TV-programs in good quality.

In the room it was quiet. You look through the windows to the backyard of the hotel.

They keep the rooms really clean, change towels and make your bed every day.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room, you do not share it with other guests.

There is a bath tub combined with a shower.

Hot water works well. Sometimes it is a little bit tricky to mix the hot and the cold water.

Toilet paper, soap and two towels per person are provided.

Location of the Hotel Residence:

The train station Hamburg mainstation and the subyway station (U-Bahn) “Hauptbahnhof Süd” are very close. To the train station it’s about 5 minute’s walk.

Directions and maps shown on Expedia are right – the arrow in Google Maps shows the hotel on the opposit side of the street. It is very easy to find the hotel first time. There is a big sign.

There are a lot of international markets and shops around Steindamm, the street where the hotel is located. You will also find cheap food there.

There are a lot of restaurants, bars and bistros around. You will find international food from German to Turkish and Indian food. Some restaurants are open all the night long.

In the same street there are some sex-shops, a variety theatre and gambling houses. It’s not the “cleanest” street of Hamburg, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable there.

The hotel is also located close to the gay area in Hamburg St. Georg. There are some gay bars, clubs, coffee shops and shops within 5 to 10 minute’s walk.

Summary

I enjoyed the stay in the Hotel Residence in Hamburg. It’s a really central place. From there you can reach the subway, train station and all of the tourist attractions of Hamburg very easily.

Well: The district of St. Georg is a little bit dirty – but I didn’t feel afraid there any time. Especially in the hotel I felt very safe and really welcome.

You can book the Hotel Residence here or, if you don’t like it, choose another hotel.

I like it to visit Berlin. The German capital is an absolutely great city!

I like to stay there in a holiday flat. It’s cheap and you are absolutely independent. The last times, when I have been in Berlin, I stayed in the 1234 Holiday flat/Ferienwohnung in Berlin-Schöneberg. It’s a very quiet place to stay – and a good position for visiting the city. And, if you are interested in, it’s less than 10 minutes’ walk to the gay area around Motzstraße and Fuggerstraße.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at “1234Holiday Flat” in Berlin Schöneberg. I stayed there (flat 7a) last time with a friend from June 10 to June 14, 2011. Here is my review:

Holiday flat facilities:

Internet: I didn’t have a laptop with me, so I don’t know if Wi-Fi works well. On the homepage it says, that they offer free Wi-Fi for their guests.

The staff are very friendly, you get your key from a person directly in the house. You also get a second key, if you need. You have to pay for the flat when you arrive there.

Flat-facilities:

In our holiday flat (number 7a) I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door of the flat with a key.

Flat has a balcony.

There are a kitchen, a combined living- and sleeping room and a bathroom.

In the living- and sleeping room there are a couch, a table with two chairs and a big couch.

On the balcony there are a table and chairs.

In the kitchen we found everything we needed, e.g. refrigerator, microwave, plates and other kitchen facilities.

There are some windows in the flat and they can be opened.

There is no air condition in the flat, but a fan is available and worked well.

I am not sure, but I think smoking is in the flat not allowed.

TV-set with big screen and a lot of TV-programs in digital quality.
Most of the TV-programs are in German language, but you can find a news channel in English and other languages.

In the flat it was very quiet. You can leave the window open during the night.

They keep the flat really clean but they don’t change towels and make your bed every day.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the flat, you don’t share it with other guests.

There is a shower combined with a bath tub.

Hot water worked well.

Toilet paper, soap and towel are provided.

Location of the holiday flat:

The holiday flat is located in Berlin Schöneberg at the corner Barbarossa Street/Landshuter Street.

There are three subway-stations very close to the holiday flat. To the subway-stations “Viktoria-Luise-Platz” (U4), “Bayerischer Platz” (U4) and “Güntzelstraße” (U9) it’s about 5 minutes’ walk. From there you have excellent connections to the different airports and train stations in Berlin.

It’s very easy to find it first time when you come from Bayerischer Platz or Viktoria-Luise-Platz. It’s a yellow building and there is a sign in front of it.

To Kurfürstendamm and KADEWE shopping center it’s about 10 minutes’ walk.

To the gay area with bars and clubs of Berlin Schöneberg (Motzstraße, Fuggerstraße, Martin-Luther-Straße,…) it’s less than 10 minutes’ walk.

There are also some shops with drinks and food close to the holiday flat.

There are some bars and restaurants around, especially into direction of Motzstraße and Victoria Luise Platz. One special restaurant and bar you should visit is “Schöneberger Weltlaterne” in Motzstraße. They have great food, the owner is singing old german songs and sometimes there is also a piano player.

Summary

I enjoyed the stay in the 1234 holiday flats. It’s a really good starting point for visiting the sights of Berlin. It’s located in a quiet street close to the gay area of Berlin Schöneberg. Compared to other hostels and hotels it’s a cheap place to stay in Berlin. I felt really welcome and safe there.

You can find more information about the 1234 Holiday Ferienwohnungen here on their homepage or, if you don’t like it, choose another holiday flat or hotel.

Do you know the railway market in Samut Songkhram? From Bangkok it’s an about 2 hours train ride to this special market. And it’s definitively one of the best things on my trip through Thailand I’ve ever seen. There the trains runs directly through the Mae Klong Railway Market 8 times a day!

We visited the city of Samut Songkhram (the old name is Mae Klong) by train and slept one night there. We searched for a hotel by chance and found the Samut Songkhram Hotel about 3 minutes’ walk from the Mae Klong Railway Station.

This hotel is really basic hotel – but for one night it was OK. I stayed there with friends from February 24 to February 25, 2011 in a twin room (two beds). Here is my review:

Hotel facilities:

Internet: I didn’t have a computer with me – so I didn’t try to get a Wi-Fi internet connection. But I think there was no Wi-Fi available.

Check-out time is 12 AM.

The staff at the reception were friendly, but they didn’t speak English.

Room in Samut Songkhram Hotel in Mae Klong

Room-facilities:

In my twin room (two beds) I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key.

There is a window in the room and it can be opened.

Air condition was available and worked well.

Smoking was in the room allowed.

TV-set with normal screen and some TV-programs in good quality.
Among others I found TV-programs in English and Thai.

In the room it was very quiet.

They keep the rooms clean.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room. The walls do not completely separate the bathroom from the sleeping room, there is a free space to the ceiling.

There is a shower in the bathroom.

Hot water worked well.

When you use the sink, the water is going cross the floor to the receiving canal.

Toilet paper, soap and towels were provided.

Location of the Samut Songkhram Hotel:

It’s about 3 minutes’ walk from the Mae Klong Railway Station.

From the station go to the north and turn on the second bigger street to the right. On the right side of the street you will see a sign “HOTEL”. That’s it.

In Google maps the street is called Si Champa.

There are a lot of food stalls in the evening close to the hotel. And there is – of course – also the Mae Klong Market.

There are also shops and some restaurants.

The location of the hotel is really central.

Summary

It was great to stay one night in Samut Songkhram. It’s a small city and there are no tourists. So you can see real Thai life. Great!

Of course also the Mae Klong Railway Market is great. You must see it, when you are in Thailand! You can go there by local train from Bangkok.

The hotel was really basic, but we felt safe there. Unfortunately I forgot to ask for an business-card. But there was no computer at the reception – so I think, it is also not possible to make a reservation via email. Go there and ask for a room – it’s the easiest way.

If you don’t like to do it “offline”, choose another hotel.

My last destination on my trip through South East Asia was Bangkok. First I stayed in the dorm at Hua Lamphong Hostel, then I searched for a single room.

About 7 minutes’ walk from the Hua Lamphong Railway Station in Bangkok I found the “Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel“. It was definitively a cosy place in a small road, where you can find real Thai-life.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at “Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel” in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. I stayed there as backpacker from February 27 to March 3, 2011 in a single room. Here is my review:

Hostel/Guesthouse facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi internet is in all the rooms and in the lounge available.
The speed of the internet connection in the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel is, compared to other hostels or hotels in Thailand, fast. There were also public computers in the lounge. You have to pay for use.

There is a lounge and a vending-machine for drinks.

There is a washing-machine, where you can do your laundry.

Check-out time is 12 AM.

The staff at the reception are very friendly.

Single room at Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel (click for more photos)

Room-facilities:

In my single room in the second floor I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door to your room with a key. To go into the hostel you need a key-card. You have to pay a deposit for it.

There is a window in the room but you look through it only into the hall.

Air condition and fan were available and worked well.

Smoking is in the room not allowed – Non smoker room.

In the room it was quiet. Unfortunately the floor in the hall is made of wood. It looks really good, but it’s also a little bit noisy. There is always a cracking-sound when someone is going.

They keep the rooms really clean, but do not change towels or make your bed every day.

Bathroom:

Bathroom and toilets are located on the floor next to the single-room. You share toilet and bathroom with other guests.

There is a shower.

Hot water worked well.

Toilet paper, soap and a towel were provided.

Location of the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel:

The Hua Lamphong Train Station (Bangkok Main Railway Station) and the Hua Lamphong Metro Station are not far away. To the train station and the metro station it’s about 7 minute’s walk.

Directions and maps shown on Hostelbookers are right. The hostel is located in a small, quiet road. In Rama IV Road you have to turn left at the Military Bank (blue sign).

There are some small shops with drinks and cheap food close to the hostel. Convenience stores (Seven Eleven, Mini Mart) and more cheap restaurants you can find in Rama IV Road and at the train station.

Summary

I enjoyed the stay at the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel. I liked especially the road, where it is located. You can find real Thai-life there.

The location of the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel is also great. It’s only a few minute’s walk to the Hua Lamphong Railway and Metro Station. The single rooms are also – compared to other hostels in Bangkok – really cheap there. I felt welcome and safe there.

You can book the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel here or, if you don’t like it, choose another hostel.

My final destination on my trip through Thailand was in Bangkok. I’ve booked there a hostel next to the Hua Lamphong Railway Station (Bangkok Main Station).

Following I write about my experiences in staying at the “At Hua Lamphong Hostel” in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. I stayed there as backpacker from February 22 to February 26, 2010 with one missing night from 24 to 25, when I have been in Samut Songkhram. I had a bed in a 6 bed mixed dorm in the fourth floor. Here is my review:

Hostel facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi was available in the room and the lounge.

The speed of the internet connection was in the Hua Lamphong Hostel very fast. There were also public computers in the lounge. For use you have to pay.

There are different areas in the hostel – chill out areas, restaurant, cafe…

There is a restaurant/bar in the hostel. They are very friendly there and offer different drinks and food (western and Thai style).

They offer laundry service for 60 Baht/Kg. I used this service. The laundry was clean. You get it back in a bag.

The staff at the reception are very friendly.

There is also a small market with clothes and food next to the entry to the Metro Station on the other side of the street.

On the other side of the river you can visit China Town. You will love it! I can recommend strolling through this city area and to taste the different food and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s really great!

Summary

I enjoyed the stay in the “At Hua Lamphong Hostel” in Bangkok. It’s a really good place to get in touch with other backpackers and to make new friends. It’s well located, especially when you want to arrive by train or start early in the morning.

Also for city-strolls the location is really good. It’s close to Chinatown and it’s only a few meters to the Hua Lamphong Metro Station.

This hostel is one of the best I’ve ever been on my trips so far. I felt really welcome and safe there.

On my trip through Thailand I also made a stop in the “sex city” Pattaya. I’ve booked a room in the south of Pattaya, close to the famous “Walking Street”.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at the “Two Guys Gay Guesthouse“, a gay friendly guesthouse in Pattaya. Originally I’ve booked there a room, but I got one in the “King Fisher” next door.

I had to change the room there one time, because the first room smelled musty. So I got room number 402. It was a little bit more expensive, but much bigger and clean. I stayed there as backpacker from February 19 to February 21, 2011 in a double bed room (used as single room). Here is my review:

Guesthouse facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi is in the lobby, the restaurant and some rooms available for free.
The internet connection in the hotel didn’t work really well. Compared to other hotels and hostels in Thailand, it was slow. Use the Wi-Fi from the restaurant next door – it’s really fast and it also worked in the fourth floor of the King Fisher Guesthouse. It’s free – you get the key, when you buy something there.
There is no public computer in the lobby of the Two Guys Gay Guesthouse, but there is a internet-cafe with fast internet-connection 30 meters to the north.

Breakfast is included. They offer a big variety of western style breakfast (included in the rates). Be careful! Thai style breakfast is not included in the room-rates!

There is a restaurant in the Two Guys Gay Guesthouse and the King Fisher Guesthouse. You can sit outside and they serve drinks and snacks all day long.

There is a laundry service close to the guesthouse (20 meters to the north on the left side).

Check-out time is 12 AM.

The staff at the reception are friendly. They gave me a map of Pattaya and showed me some interesting places on it.

Room-facilities:

In my room (double room – used as single room) I found the following facilities:

In the room there are a desk for working and a cupboard.

There is no net against mosquitoes in front of the window.

Air condition and fan worked well.

Smoking is in the room not allowed – Non smoker room.

TV-set with normal screen and a lot of TV-programs.
Among others I found TV-programs in Thai, English, French, German,…

In the room it was quiet. I closed the window during the night.

They keped the room really clean, change towels and made my bed every day.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room.

There is a shower.

Hot water worked well.

Toilet paper, soap and towel are provided.

Location of the Two Guys Gay Guesthouse/King Fisher Guesthouse:

The guesthouse is located in the south of Pattaya. It is 5 minutes’ walk to the famous “Walking Street” and about 10 minutes to the gay-area “boyz town”.

To the beach in Pattaya it is about 10 minutes’ walk. To the (gay) beach in Jomtien it takes about 15 minutes’ by baht-bus (10 baht per direction).

The position shown in the Google-map on Hostelbookers is NOT RIGHT! Use the little map under the Google map! The guesthouse is a little bit hard to find first time.

There are a lot of bars for hetero and gay close to the guesthouse.

You’ll find also a lot of shops and restaurants close to the guesthouse.

Summary

The Tow Guys Gay Guesthouse is located close to the night life area in Pattaya. The guesthouse is gay friendly. When you don’t book the cheapest room, you’ll get a nice and very clean room. They cooperate with the King Fisher Guesthouse next door, where my room was located.

The staff there can help you with all your questions. They offer a really big breakfast. I felt welcome and safe there.

You can book the Two Guys Gay Guesthouse or, if you don’t like it, choose another hostel.

And what experiences did you have in the Two Guys Gay Guesthouse? Tell us and write a review here!

On my motorcycle-tour through the highlands of Central-Vietnam I stayed one night in Da Lat. The Dalat Traveller Hotel Quynh Tram was booked from my tourguide. Also other “Easyrider” stayed there.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at the “Dalat Traveller Hotel Quynh Tram” in Da Lat. I stayed there from January 4 to January 5, 2011 in a twin room (used as single room). Here is my review:

Hotel facilities:

Internet: Wi-Fi is in the lounge and in the rooms available. I didn’t use it. Remember, that Facebook is blocked in Vietnam! In the lobby there is one public computer for use for free of charge. Facebook worked well there. The internet connection was – compared to other hostels and hotels in Vietnam – slow.

The staff at the reception was friendly but spoke only a little bit English.

Room-facilities:

In my twin-room number 08 (used as single room) I found two beds and the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key.

Room has no balcony.

There is a window in the room and it can be opened.

There is no net against mosquitoes in front of the window.

A cupboard is in the room.

Air condition is available.

Smoking is in the room allowed.

TV-set with big screen and a lot of TV-programs, but only Vietnamese programms.

The room was quiet.

The room was clean.

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room.

There is a shower combined with a bath tub.

Hot water worked well.

Toilet paper, soap and towel were provided.

Location of the Quynh Tram Hotel:

The hotel is located in the city-center of Da Lat.

There are a lot of restaurants, pubs and shops close to the hotel.

Summary

I stayed only one night in the Dalat Traveller Hotel Quynh Tram. This one night was really OK. The beds are soft and the room is quiet. When you stay there, you’ll meet some other “Easyrider” motorbikers. We had a lot of fun and I felt welcome and safe there.

You can book the Quynh Tram Hotel via e-mail or, if you don’t like it, choose another hotel.

I’ve searched for a cheap hotel close to the train station in Changsha and found only 200 meters’ walk from there the “Motel 168 Changsha Railway Station”. It is a very big hotel, but nothing special.

Following I write about my experiences in staying at the “Motel 168” in Changsha. I stayed there as backpacker from October 13 to October 15, 2010 in a single room. Here is my review:

Hotel facilities:

Free internet is available via LAN-cable. Compared to other hostels and hotels in China, the internet-connection speed was average. Notice, that Facebook and other social networks are blocked in China.

There is a restaurant in the hotel, I didn’t try it.

The staff at the reception are friendly, but they don’t speak English very well.

Room-facilities:

In my single room (no. 1326) I found the following facilities:

You can lock the door with a key-card.

In the room there is a desk for working.

There is a window in the room and it can be opened. The window didn’t close properly.

Air condition is available.

Smoking is in the room allowed. Unfortunately it was a bit stinky there. Also the air condition smelled heavily after smoke.

TV-set with normal screen.

There is a water boiler in the room, they offer also some tea.

The room is quiet, you hear only a little bit street-noise.

They keep the rooms clean.

On the wall there was a big water-spot. I don’t know how this can happen in the 13th floor?

Bathroom:

The bathroom is located in the room.

There is a shower.

Hot water worked well.

There was unfortunately a bad smell in the bathroom (from the drain?).

Toilet paper, soap, towel and some other bathing facilities are provided.

Location of the Motel 168:

It’s about five minutes’ walk to the Changsha railway station.

Directions and maps shown on Expedia are not extremely useful. But the Motel 168 Changsha Railway Station is really easy to find. Starting at the train station go along the Wuyi Avenue. You’ll find the hotel after around 200 meters on the left side. Be careful! In some cities there are some Motel 168 on different places.

There are a lot of restaurants and shops close to the hotel.

Summary

It was not an extremely great pleasure to stay at the Motel 168 Changsha Railway Station – but it was cheap. If you need a hotel room for one or two nights it would not be a problem to stay there. But it is really nothing special. I felt welcome and safe there.

You can book a room in the Motel 168 Changsha Railway Station here or, if you don’t like it, choose another hotel.

And what experiences did you have in the Motel 168 Changsha Railway Station? Tell us and write a review here!
